Sector: Automotive Rentals

Project Delivered: RISE WITH Rollout for Saudi Arabia on S/4HANA 2023

About Client

SANGHVI MOVERS LIMITED (SML) is the largest crane rental company in India and Asia, and the fourth-largest in the world as ranked by International Cranes (June 2024). Headquartered in Pune, SML was incorporated in 1989 . SML has a fleet of 400+ medium to large-sized heavy-duty telescopic and crawler cranes ranging from 20 to 1600 MT across 130+ operational job sites in India.

Engagement Highlights

  • As part of the rollout, a VAT interface was successfully developed and tested to ensure compliance with local tax regulations. This interface enables seamless transmission of tax invoice data from SAP to the ZATCA (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority) portal via an API integration using the Accqrate solution
  • To meet local language and compliance requirements, bilingual forms (Arabic and English) were developed for both outbound and inbound documents. This ensured clear communication with stakeholders, supports regulatory compliance, and enhances user experience across the organization.
  • Master data was successfully loaded in both English and Arabic to support bilingual operations across the system. This approach enhances usability for local users, ensures compliance with regional requirements, and facilitates seamless data interpretation and reporting in both languages.
  • With several stakeholders involved in each module, the project environment required careful coordination and alignment.
  • The project team effectively navigated these dynamics, successfully uncovering critical information and ensuring a seamless rollout with no major disruption to business operations.

Business Challenges

Highly Customized Business Processes: SML’s SAP system contains deeply entrenched and highly customized business processes, which significantly deviated from standard SAP practices. These customizations were developed by a previous implementation partner, with minimal documentation or knowledge transfer available to the current team.

Time Constraints: The rollout team had to reverse-engineer custom developments through deep-dive analysis and hands-on exploration under tight timelines.

Operational Continuity: Ensuring that existing business-critical custom processes continued functioning correctly in the new S/4HANA environment was a significant risk factor.
User Readiness and Change Acceptance-Unfamiliar interfaces and business process alterations led to reduced user confidence

Training Gaps: Limited access to clear documentation and training materials hindered a smooth transition, especially for users accustomed to legacy workflows.

Arabic Language Outputs and Localization

Lack of Clarity: The specific expectations for Arabic translations and formatting were not always clearly defined
Custom Output

Enhancements: Standard outputs had to be extensively tailored to align with local regulatory and user preferences, demanding additional development and validation cycles.
